I wonder though if the Lion ancestor will stop this action? the one you bow to cancel any action that lets someone go before the defender?
I will tentatively say that it can cancel the action.

And it actually looks like to me that you can nullify a Naval Invasion by just having one Naval card in your army... am I wrong?
You are wrong.
Naval Invasion If every Personality and Follower in only one army has the Naval trait, then immediately after that battle is chosen for resolution, the Naval army's leader may elect to make the battle a naval invasion.
The "in only one army" part sounds like to me that if any other armies have Naval cards, a Naval Invasion cannot be declared.
A naval invasion can be declared only if exactly one army is entirely Naval.
rules questions
Is bayushi yojiro ability to reset honor affected by In time of war?
No. Yojiro's effect is not considered a change, therefore your Family Honor is not considered to be rising. By card text, In Time of War prohibits your Family Honor from "rising", so since it's not rising, In Time of War does nothing.
A player that renounces to win an honor victory or loses this ability is affected by Death of the Ki-rin?
He is no longer affected if he loses that path to victory.
is he affected if he plays "the iron citadel" and is playing with the horde?
No, because he still cannot win an Honor Victory due to The Iron Citadel's text.
If you must draw more than one card during the endphase can you use sacrifices to our future to prevent drawing any number of cards or only one?
Any number, though remember that you still gain only 2 Honor per turn for drawing zero cards, not 2 Honor per draw refused.

Sure, if they're big enough. Peasant Revolt says nothing about bowing only Humans.
Old Cards new rules question
Will certin words begin to count as being the same as Naval now for older cards such as the crab sailor from crimson and jade?
"Sailor" will be equivalent to "Naval" once Dark Allies releases.
Battle Actions
When someone uses a Battle action from an item or follower, what would be some cards that would be good to redirect it without cancelling it? I saw a few that would redirect it from personalities specifically, but are there any that just redirect in general? Would Shosuro Gardens be able to do this or not due to it not being by the strict definition of an action card?
"Action card" has a rather strict definition, yes, and it means what it says. Shosuru Gardens can't redirect things like Spearmen ranged attacks.
Rules Question on Remorseful Seppuku
Am I correct in reading the MRP of the card that people now lose honor when you play it on their dishonored personality? The old version said "This personality is considered honorable dead but there are no honor gains or losses." However the Gold version does NOT have that text.
The Gold Edition rulebook clarifies that any death by any seppuku effect is an Honorable Death, so there is no honor loss from dying dishonorably regardless of the new wording.

Bonuses and Penalties Similarly, the printed focus value for Fate cards is found in the circle at the bottom of the card. Special text that resets a card's Focus values (e.g., Burning Your Essence, Let Your Spirit Guide You) only affect the current (i.e., base) Focus value. [Summary of other rulings]
This ruling is incorrect and has been removed. "Base" value and "current" value are NOT synonymous. "Base" value and "PRINTED" value are synonymous -- "current" value means "whatever it is right this moment".
I believe this rectifies the contradiction you see with Burning Your Essence.
If you have a PH of 1 with the Armor or name 0 Focus value with the Blade do you stop all cards with a printed Focus of 0 from being played (baring bonuses from sources such as Touch of Ameterasu)? ie does a PH1 peep with the Armor stop BYE, LYSGY, APC etc?
Yes for the Armor. It seems that way for the Blade as well, based on prerelease text.

On a related note I'm annoyed at the Olympic Commitee/Lawyers who told AEG/FRPG/WotC/whoever they needed to change their logo. "Five linked rings is copyright infringement" my @$$.

The game had been out for 2 or 3 Olympics, and they finally noticed a game with the words "5 Rings" after how many years?
Point the first: the game is less than 7 years old, and the Olympics happen every 4. It can't have been out for 3 Olympics. Point the second: the U.S. Olympic Committee informed FRPG of the infringement long before the card backs changed. Although packaging (and, I believe, FRPG's company logo) was changed immediately, the card backs were given a grace period and allowed to stay unchanged until the big GenCon 2000 Gold Edition release was foreseen to conflict too strongly with the 2000 Summer Games.
New Mantis stronghold...
Since the new City of Lightning is continually referred to as a Mantis Stronghold, does that mean it doesn't allow honor gain from bringing a Yoritomo's Alliance aligned personality into play? Is it only Mantis which are aligned with this new Stronghold?
Just wondering about its use for Open play.
"Mantis Clan" and "Yoritomo's Alliance" were and still are completely equivalent terms, in all game formats. "Yoritomo's Alliance" Personalities are in-clan for the City of Lightning.
Rumors Q
If you choose to reduce a personalities personal honor to 0 with Rumors, how long does this effect last? (e.g., after the personality enters play?, permanently?)

I just have a quick question. I looked in the archives and couldn't find anything to say that scout is a reaction. So am I correct that the scout nor playing the terrain from scout is a reaction, correct?
