Season of the Crane

Hi all -

Given the greatly varied contents of the first 2 Season of the X packages [EDITORIAL: One being the fantastic mix of non-unique Akashas, the foily Celestial Sword and Koku that the players could use to get cards they want; the other being 18 of a unique card best used by only 1 faction and unlikely to see play beyond a limited audience...and the cool foily Yakamo's Claw] we're kind of wondering what we can expect for the Season of the Crane package.

I know that spoiler-esque specifics are straight out, but you people in charge can share a little info, right? :)

(1) Will we see koku prize cards again?

No.

(2) Will the promo be a non-unique?

The Season of the Crane promo has already been selected and printed, but future Seasons will start including non-Uniques.

Rulings and reversals

Jeff, Your brought up the example of Toturi as having an honor of 0. Toturi is not dishonored until he enters play. His Personal honor is 4 before he enters play. Can you explain the timing behind this so I can understand why you say he has zero honor. Also if you paid for him in full(Assuming Toturi Army player), why would he not become rehonored instead of the honor gain for his personal honor of 4? This is based on, if you payed for a character in full you gain the honor, but a dishonored character can not gain honor. But if a dishonored character gains honor he is instead rehonored. I know this is ruling, but I somehow see a conflict in the rulings. I am just confused with the timing aspects.

"Toturi enters play dishonored". If he's dishonored when he enters play, and you paid full price, you gain his Personal Honor, which, because he is dishonored, is 0. According to the rulebook, a Personality must be involved in "rais[ing] their controller's Family Honor" to become honorable again. By ruling, 0-point honor gains do not "raise" Family Honor and therefore do not restore dishonored Personalities to honor.

Now that I think of it, I'm not sure the definition of "cause an Honor gain" (w/r to being rehonored) hasn't been changed with Gold Edition.

I don't believe it has. Being involved in any circumstance that raises Family Honor will work.

Like, under GE rules, if an Oni no Pekkle is dishonored and reshuffled into the Dynasty deck (Kolat Dupe, maybe, or a Ninja Pekkle with Kitsuki Iyekao), what happens if she's brought back into play?

It'd be restored to honor instead of you gaining 3.

Rulings collalary: Regions of Rokugan

And with Regions of Rokugan if the region I get is unique and in play or all my provinces are with regions attached?:

If you cannot attach it, it gets discarded. You are still allowed to get a Region which you know you will not be able to attach.
