Entering play questions
Can Kitsu Osen's Reaction to entering play be used if he's overlaid on Daidoji Osen?
No.
Can Toturi non-exp's Reaction be used if that's as a result of him committing seppuku?
No. Dead men tell no tales. And they don't get to perform Reactions, either.
Mantis Clan and Foxbox with Ratling sensei
The trait on the sensei is Mantis, thus the ratling personalities that join cost 2 less and gain the trait Mantis, thus could not be recruited by the Fox stronghold. Is that more clear?

The relevant ruling in the Archive is, "Personalities swearing fealty gain the "Yoritomo's Alliance" trait, not "Mantis Clan." [DW, e-mail, 4/7/99]" This will also apply to Personalities who "join." I'll add this small clarification to the Archive.

I always thought that if a personality went home from a battle unless it was stated otherwise (Entrapping Terrain, Flattery, Bridged Pass) he was bowed.
This was true *VERY* briefly. It hasn't been for almost a year.
If not, why is it specifically stated on these cards that they do not bow?

Ray Lau said that we could interchangeably use the "Spirit of" cards with their previous incarnations.
Not interchangeably. Old Personalities are legal proxies for Gold Edition "Soul of" Personalities. Important difference.
Kitsune Shudo is a member of Yoritomo's Alliance, but his next version, Ryukan, is not. Is Shudo played as though he has no such allegiance?
Play as the Gold Edition Personality.
New Rules: Targeting
In the rules only reffers to actions, what about other cards or effects?
On-line Gold rulebook: "To determine whether an action *or other effect* is targeted..."
Can now I target my non-personalities bowed cards?
You always could.
if my opponet targets one of my personalities with 'Ninja Kidnapper' and then names this personality with Shoju Sensei. How can I obtain an Honor Victory?
Pay 10G.
Can I target this bowed personality?
No more than usual.
