could someone please answer the question, can you use the originals as the soul of versions in Gold tournaments.
No, according to the current Rules Archive. The "Soul of..." Personalities are new cards, and proxies are not allowed in sanctioned tournaments.

In GOLD edition will the Warrens of the Nezumi be considered a ratling stronghold?
It always has been a Ratling stronghold. (I mean, what else would it be?)
A Different COAAT Question
If you play COAAT in a battle where you have more than one unit, do you get an immediate duel when you play the terrain[?]
No, absolutely not. See the current wording in the Rules Archive. The action is only allowed if there is one defender.
