Rulings for 12-13 February 2001
A rules digest from the L5R CCG rules team, copied from the mailing list archive for Oracle of the Void. The askers' names are left out. Rulings are as they stood on this date; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
Scope of Agasha Join The Phoenix: related question
How is this affected by the various aligning sensei? As in the, Suzume aren't traditionally a family in a Clan. But if someone is using that Sensei, and then another player had this event come up, could they name Suzume?
Nothing that happens to the alignments of Personalities during the game affects which families can be named.
Ruling: Battle to Fief (Rules Junta)
I guess I have fallen behind the times. Somewhere around GenCon 2000, Jeff made a ruling that stated an action or effect this sends a unit from a battle to the fief, always bows the unit, unless the action or effect says differently.
That ruling is no longer in effect.
And does the Dark Path Stronghold still bow the attacking army (if under 10 chi), but not send them home if Winter Warfare has gone off?
Yes.
Rules: Seppun Sensei (Rules Junta)
This has probably been answered before, so I apologize in advance. I checked the rulings archive on Zen's page and did not see the answer under Seppun Sensei that made sense to me (sorry I'm slow).
My opponent uses the Seppun Sensei and controls the favor.
He plays His Most Favored on a personality.
I kill the personality. Can my opponent use the Imperial Favor to negate the loss? Why or why not? Can this reasoning be added to the archive?
Your opponent cannot. Preventing/negating an honor loss is a change.
Wasp Sensei Question(Jeff)
Ok the set up;
Heart of Shinomen Forest Your Nagas are immune to fear. You may ignore Honor Requirements for Nagas if you have Shadowlands cards in play. blah, blah, blah and so on.
Wasp Sensei Your Wasp Clan Personalities have your clan's trait. blah blah...
The question;
Can I ignore honor req. for the Wasp Clan peeps also? I feel yes, but I want to be sure. Need to get ready for Boston Gran Prix.
Yes. Wasp Sensei works like Kage and At'tok'tuk: it applies to all relevant Personalities in your deck, discard pile, Provinces, and in play.
