Hi,
My question is about paying the cost of the action of Capturing the soul after changing target by Ryoshun's Guidance. The sequens of playing an action is: Announce choose performers targeting (and here it comes the Ryoshun's Guidance) paying cost resolution of the action
The cost in CTS is to bow performing shugenja and 0 or more of your performers.
Question- does the cost paying (bowing) is going to be befor I target ex. some one with 5C or after some one use Ryoshun's Guidance redirection on personality with 2C (then I do not have to bow as many performers as before redirection)
Capturing the Soul:Limited: Bow this Shugenja and 0 or more of your other performing Shugenja, target a Personality, and remove this card from the game: If the total Chi of all your performing Shugenja is higher than three times the Chi of the Personality, remove him (and his attachments) from the game.
Ryoshun's Guidance:Reaction: When another player's action would target one of your cards, discard this card: Choose another of your non-Stronghold cards at the same location. The action targets it instead, if legal.

As you point out, the order is:
Choose Performers - here you select your other Shugenja(s) Required Targets - this is where Ryoshun's Guidance is used Pay costs - here you bow your Shugenja
Unfortunately, you have to declare which Shugenjas will be performing the action before you declare the target. If the target is changed, you may not change your declaration of performers.
Moreover, it's important to note that the cost isn't dependent on the target. Cards such as The Heir's Wrath have a variable cost which depends on the target, and the rules for Variable costs and interference state that when a target is changed, costs which vary depending on some state of the target need not be paid.
However, this is not such a case. The cost you pay isn't dependent on the target: instead, the effects of the action are dependent on a comparison of the chi of the target and the total chi of the performing Shugenja.
