Koshin Keep and Negation
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
If a ranged attack is completely negated, do you still get the force reduction and additional ranged attack via Koshin Keep's reaction?
It depends on what you mean by "completely negated". The text of the negation effect would help in giving you a definite answer.
However, I hope it helps to say that the extra effects added by Koshin Keep are effects of the action that created the Ranged Attack as well as additional effects of the non-killing Ranged Attack itself.

Lets say that the mantis player used Koshin Keeps reaction, and declared Naval. After announcing his naval ranged attack action, the defender reacts with Entrenched Position. The ranged attack would be negated, there would be no force reduction, and there would be no chance for an additional ranged attack targeting the same card, correct?

Entrenched Position negates all of the announced Battle action's ("its") effects.
As I said above, the extra effects added by Koshin Keep are effects of the action that created the Ranged Attack, so they would be negated as well.
