Arcane Cloak of the Chameleons and The Shadow's Lair

L5R CCG Rules board, 28 July 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If a Personality equipped with the Arcane Cloak is in an army with another Personality, can presenceless portion The Shadow's Lair Battle action target him?

Under Discussion.

And a quick discussion at that. You can't say we NEVER have those.

So, the answer is "no".

The Arcane Cloak's unit's cards' immunity to targeting persists while there is another legal target for the action. Even if that other legal target was ALREADY targeted by an action that can target (or requires targeting) multiple targets, it doesn't change the condition of the immunity. There is still a legal target in the army, so the Arcane's Cloak's units' card's can't be.
