I am having a hard time explaining this to some players, please help. They want to know what happens to the defenders at a province that has been targeted by Two Fronts? If the defenders are there for the first battlefield, what happens to them for the second?
Two Fronts and defenders
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

They would stay at the first battlefield, the same as if they were at a battlefield at another province.
I just want to clear clear on this, so I figured I would ask.
I play 2 fronts targeting a province, and i am the attacker. We move on to assignment, and i assign attackers to both of the provinces associated with the province in question. I want to make sure all these statements are true.
1) If the first battle is resolved, and I have done enough to destroy the province, it is gone at that time, but we still must resolve the second battle, it is just no longer at a province.
2) If I do not destroy the province at the first battle, I can still win the battle at the second province, and if I overcome the defender AND the province strength, like normal, this also destroys the province.
3) Once either of these battles is resolved, whether the province is there or not, these are now valid battlefields to move units to with movement tricks.

Of these statements, only #2 is true.
Per the CR on Battle Resolution,
"3. The battle ends. This happens even if there was no resolution to the battle. At this time, if any provinces were destroyed during the resolution, their battlefields cease to exist."
If the province is destroyed at resolution, all battlefields associated with that province cease to exist.

If I assign attacking units at both battefields at the same Two-Front'ed province, and my opponent defends at both. I resolve the first battlefield first, and I wind up winning the battle and destroying the province. What happens to the units at the other battlefield? Can units who were attacking at the other battlefield still move into attacking armies, or are they somehow considered to have been attacking at a resolved battlefield and thus are unable to move into new battles?

They return home when the battlefield ceases to exist, but since they have not been in a battle's resolution this Attack Phase, they may move into armies at other battlefields.
Battles & Battlefields, general: When a battlefield ceases to exist, all units still there bow simultaneously if they were in an attacking army or if they were allied units, then return home simultaneously. Any Strategy in play there is discarded. These are not effects of resolution.
Second-Battle Rule: Before a unit that was in an attacking army at any point during a battle’s resolution moves or assigns to a battlefield during the same Attack Phase, the unit’s movement or assignment does not happen.
