Items bow when personality does?

L5R CCG Rules board, 20 May 2012 to 26 May 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hello,

When an effect bows a personality, do the items attached to the personality bow as well? I did not think this to be the case, but a few of the more "experienced" players say that it does. Is this a deprecated rule from a previous edition?

All abilities and effects state explicitly what they effect. It seems like your experienced player's may be being slightly confused and mixing up Personality and Unit.

If the ability says "bow the Personality," their attachments will not bow. If the ability says "bow the Unit," then all the cards in the unit, including the attachments would bow.

If a card says, "Target an enemy Personality: Bow him."; Will this also bow the attachments in that Personality's Unit?
