A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I feel like a newb for asking this, but just checking: Can I lobby for the favor if I already control it?
(Lobby) Political Limited: If you have higher Family Honor than each other player, bow your performing Personality with 1 Personal Honor or higher: Take the Imperial Favor. (From the Rules Wiki).
Thanks!

Yes.
See Abilities and Actions: If one or more of an action's effects are known beforehand to fail (for example, bowing an already bowed Personality, or moving him when a current effect would negate the movement), the action is still legal to take.
