A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

When two or more players are in a game and one player loses in this way, the one remaining player has won a Dishonor Victory.
When two or more players are in a game... and one player loses in this way. the one remaining player has won a Dishonor Victory.
I'm... a little confused. So I'm playing some legacy (I mean not-War of Honor) multiplayer game of 4 players and 1 player loses by dishonor. Who is the one remaining player? Did somebody just win the dishonor victory, because the condition of "one player loses this way" appears to trigger. (Cardinal rule #3 fails me)

I have clarified the CR statement now (its less than ideal syntax was probably the result of hasty cutting and pasting off Military Victory's last sentence):
"When two or more players are in a game and a player loses in this way, if there is only one remaining player, he or she has won a Dishonor Victory."
