A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Given the fact that the Snake Tattoo reaction triggers after targetting a personality with a Battle action, is the Rule of Location satisfied if the personality moves to adjacent battlefield or is it not?
Snake Tattoo Reaction: After another player's Battle action targets your Tattooed Personality: Move him to an adjacent battlefield. If he is no longer a legal target for that action, negate its effects.
Rule of Location: A card in a unit must be at the current battlefield to be targeted by, or explicitly perform, a Battle action

The "if he is no longer a legal target" check happens after the Personality has moved. Therefore, in almost all cases the Rule of Location will cause the targeting to be illegal after the Personality has moved to another location.
