A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Relevant Texts:
Other players' Personalities in play have -2 Gold Cost and all players have the ability "Political Limited: Discard the Imperial Favor or pay 6 Gold: Discard a card titled Economic Repercussions from play."
Reaction: Before an action resolves, if discarding the Imperial Favor is one of its base costs: Negate the action's effects.
My question is as follows: Is the option to discard the Imperial Favor as a base cost sufficient to allow Confusion at Court to react, even if "6 Gold" is the cost paid?
