Shoju Sensei vs. Redirection

L5R CCG Rules board, 5 March 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 5 March 2012

Shoju Sensei Limited: Once per game, target a Personality: While that Personality remains in play, no player can win an Honor victory. Until the game ends, current and new card effects that prevent your opponents from targeting the Personality are negated.

does this include redirection away from Shoju Sensei's target?

just needed to get an official ruling on this. thanks

Yes, you may use something such as Chugo Seido to change someone's targeting of Shoju Sensei's target to another Personality.

Substitution: "...substitution is not itself prevention..."
