Greetings, I have 3 questions regarding some interactions between cards. 1) If i equip and play unnatural flood with a water shugenja and my opponent play effortless counterattack what is negated? a) all the actions effects? b) the bow part of the action + the negation part about future movement? c) nothing? 2) If i play the open action of the temple of purity and myo pponent plays footsteps of madness what is negated? a) the force penalty + the honor gain/loss b) just hte honor gain/loss c) nothing? 3) If i take the rulebook equip action to equip a spell as an additional action cause of skipping the puddle and my opponents play effortless what happens? my playgroup said that the spell stays in your hand and you dont pay any cost of the spell but that doesnt seem logical to me so i would like an official ansher and maybe an explanation if possible because i thought you would pay the cost of the spell and the spell would get discarded, as the part where you attach the spell is an effect of the equip action..
Thank you for your time.

The actions themselves will say exactly what cannot be negated.
1. Unnatural Flood Battle: Bow this Shugenja and target an enemy Personality: Move him home; if this Shugenja is Water, this movement will not be negated. If the target moved, bow him and negate his (future) movement.
The movement will not be negated. However, the bowing and the negation of future movement are effects that will be negated.
2. Temple of Purity Open: Even if this card if bowed, target another player's Personality: Give him -4F, which will not be negated. If he is Kolat, Ninja, or Shadowlands, you control an Inquisitor, and it is not your turn, choose a player who gains or loses 2 Honor.
The -4F will not be negated. The honor gain or loss will be negated.
3. Equip
The attaching of the spell is an effect allowed by the Equip action. When it is negated, you never get to the point of attaching the spell and paying its costs, so it remains in your hand and no costs are paid.
