Fields of Mercy, "another personality"

L5R CCG Rules board, 17 February 2012 to 19 February 2012

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Fields of Mercy: Before a card effect destroys a Personality in an army, if a card effect has destroyed another Personality in that army while this card was in play: Negate the Personality's destruction

If I play Fields of Mercy, my opponent destroys my Personality A, then I bring them back into play (At Any Cost, say), what happens when he tries to destroy Personality A again? Is it negated or, since Personality A is not "another personality", is he destroyed again?

Thanks!

Personality A is not "another" Personality as it is not different from the first Personality referenced. Therefore if you bring the Personality back, Fields of Mercy will not negate the Personality's destruction.
