I've recently come back to playing after being gone for most of celestial and I ran into a deck that was running multiple copies of katana of fire xp. I seem to remember from past rules that experienced cards were unique by default, however, I could not find any confirmation of such in the EE rulebook, the EE comprehensive rules, or searching this forum.
So are experienced cards unique by default or am I just remembering some old rule?

You are correct, that is an old rule but it no longer applies to Experienced Personalities.
