A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I was sure this question has already been asked. But I found nothing using the search!
Just wondering if vigilant riders can negate any destruction but its own?
After this card bows: Straighten it. Reaction: After another player's action targets a card in this unit: Negate this card's destruction from the action's effects.
It's the words "this cards" that confuses me. I believe it refers at "vigilant riders" but, the way it is written, it could also refers as "the card that has been targeted".
Thanks!
And sorry if I just couldn't find the answer to this...

"This card" refers to the card on which it is printed. If Vigilant Riders prevented the destruction of the targeted card, the text would be "its" instead.
