A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
Rulebook in the L5R.com website considered 'Kolat Edition'? It says in the title 'Emperor Edition', but as I cannot find a Kolat Edition Rulebook, I believe it is the same. If I'm wrong, please ignore my question and, I'm sorry.
Engage: The point in time when a battle begins.
This is the only reference I can find in the book for the 'engage' (other than references to Heavily Engaged). Does this mean the engagement isn't anymore after each maneuvers segment (infantry and cavalry)?
Thanks!

Yes, they are the same.

Engaging has always been the point when the Combat Segment begins for each battle. It has never been as you describe in your last sentence above.
