Can Unnatural Hunger destroy a Region?

L5R CCG Rules board, 21 November 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

The question is in the topic, but it was asked in a friendly game this week-end and I really would like to know the answer.

Unnatural Hunger: This card has -1 Gold Cost for every Undead Personality you control. Battle: Choose your performing unbowed Undead Personality: Destroy a target enemy card without attachments.

I know a region is a card, but I thought that this kind of battle action was reserved to cards in an army. But maybe I am wrong.

No, this card cannot destroy a Region.

You are correct that it can only affect a card in an army, and that's because of this:

Enemy: "In a phrase such as "an enemy card," "enemy" does not refer to cards outside of units, but can refer to units and cards in units outside the current battlefield."
