Presence-less actions in WoH

L5R CCG Rules board, 6 November 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 6 November 2011

Using settling the homeless as an example, but really any presence-less action that doesn't specify the target is an enemy applies.

Battle: Even if you control no units at the current battlefield: Move a target Personality without Followers home.

Can you use this sort of action at a battlefield where you were not involved. IE, player A declares an attack against player B. Neither player receives allies. Can player C then use settling the homeless or actions like it?

Per the War of Honor Rulebook, page 26, you may take such an action only if you were invited as an ally by the attacker or defender.
