Ninube Shiho & Sly Deceiver

Hi quick question about how this interacts with card memory. Say I have ninja A and Ninube Shiho. I use sly deceiver to copy Shiho's ability onto Ninja A and then in battle use Ninja A's copied ability. Does Ninja A remember that he copied Shiho's ability or since Ninja A went face down and out of play does he forget?

Sly Deceiver: Text Ninja Limited: Choose your performing Ninja Personality and target a non-Unique Personality: Your Ninja permanently copies the Personality's base keywords except Clan Champion, Daimyo or Shugenja, and permanently copies his base abilities which do not themselves copy abilities. \

Ninube Shiho: Text Spider Clan • Shadowlands • Ninja • Shugenja • Unmaker After Shiho enters play: Lose 1 Honor. Battle: Put Shiho on top of your Dynasty deck and target an enemy Personality: Put all cards without attachments in his unit on the bottom of their owners' appropriate decks.

Thanks!

He forgets, per the Tracking Rule: “Memory” of the status of individual cards ends when the card enters a deck [...]

Regarding this ruling: viewtopic.php?p=1248728#p1248728

Wouldn't Ninja A remember that he copied Shiho's ability, since Sly Deceiver says he permanently copies the ability? I was under the impression that "permanently" overrode card memory because its was something that has a duration of until end of the game.

As stated above, no. "Permanent" does not mean "cannot be undone."

There is no such exception to the Tracking Rule I can find. The Tracking rule (http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Effects#Tracking_rule) specifically says it applies to ongoing effects, and "permanent" is one kind of ongoing effect (http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Effects#Ongoing_effects).

Perhaps you are thinking of the rules for events (http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Card_types#Events)? If you do find a section in the Rules Wiki that supports your impression, please do point it out. That might help to explain it better, word it better in the wiki, or correct an error.
