A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If I have a Personality with a Reaction that triggers upon any Personality entering play and I use it during a Battle (due to Will or whatever). What happens if I overlay him in the Dynasty Phase and bring another Personality?
a) The ability is 'passed down' to the Experienced version, and thus cannot be used again (opt rule). b) The Experienced version is considered to have the ability printed, thus can be used again (same ability; different sources). c) None of the above.
Thank you very much.

a) and c). The ability cannot be used again - but it cannot in fact be used when overlaying.
See Physically marked card states, Overlaying: An overlaying card is not entering play even if it comes from an out-of-play area. An inherited ability on the new card is the same copy as on the underlying card, and remembers whether it has been used.
