I’ve been pondering the non-negation trait on Toshi Ranbo and I’d like to double-check some interactions with various cards and abilities.
Are the following statements correct?
1) Units assign before a battle.
2) Engaging takes place during a battle and at a battlefield.
3) The reaction on Only Actions Speak will not negate an honour gain from the effect of a political action during a battle at Toshi Ranbo.
4) The ongoing effect created by the reaction on Only Actions Speak that is affecting the current attack phase will not negate honour gains from the effects of political actions during a battle at Toshi Ranbo.
How does the honour reduction effect of the player seppuku reaction interact with Toshi Ranbo’s trait? If a player chooses to seppuku in response to the honour loss from Inexplicable Challenge is the honour loss reduced to 1 or does it stay at 2?
Relevant card text:
Toshi Ranbo
During battles at this province's battlefield, effects of Political actions will not be negated.
Only Actions Speak
Reaction: After an action is announced: Negate all Honor gains until after the action's resolution. At that time if this negated any gains, negate all Honor gains until the end of this phase and draw a card.
Seppuku
Reaction: Any number of times per turn, before you lose Honor from an action that targeted or was performed by one of your Courtier or Samurai Personalities: He commits seppuku. If the seppuku destroyed him, reduce the Honor loss to one.
