Subversive Influence
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
Let's say that I use Subversive Influence's reaction on an event. Will the province that the event was in get refilled before or after the event gets shuffled back into the deck?
Areas of the game, Provinces: When a card leaves a province and the province then holds fewer than its maximum number of cards, effects triggered by the card leaving the Province or entering play resolve first (including effects of Events that resolved from that Province). Then, if the Province still holds fewer than its maximum number of cards, it is refilled with a face-down Dynasty card from the top of the Province’s owner’s deck, unless something else has refilled it (see Refill).
Hello,
I'm sorry if the response in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=89992 was meant to be clear, but I'm still not sure what the answer to that question is.
The rules quote: "When a card leaves a province and the province then holds fewer than its maximum number of cards, effects triggered by the card leaving the Province or entering play resolve first (including effects of Events that resolved from that Province). I've bolded the parts where it says what resolves before refilling. But Subversive Influence doesn't seem to be an "effect triggered by the card leaving the province or entering play", nor does the event ever resolve. I guess I'm confused at what point in the process of "normal event resolution" does the timing for Subversive Influence happen?

Subversive Influence's trigger is "Before an event resolves", so the shuffling occurs as an effect caused by the Event leaving the Province. After that, you refill.
