Akodo Raemon

L5R CCG Rules board, 31 March 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I just want to make sure I have this right:

Akodo Raemon's text - Reaction: After the resolution of a Tactical action that Raemon performed, if he is at the current battlefield: Ranged Attack with strength equal to Raemon's Force minus two.

The way I understand it is that the use of the Tactician trait is a rulebook action taken by the player, not by the Tactician targeted by the action. Therefore, using Raemon's Tactician trait to give him a force bonus would not activate his Reaction.

Is this correct?

Is this correct?

No. The Tactician keyword (not trait) is never 'used', however the rules state that each Tactician can only perform one Tactical action per turn. The Tactical player ability is performed by the targeted Tactician. If Akodo Raemon performs it, and if he is at the current battlefield after its resolution, his Reaction can be used to produce a Ranged Attack.
