Crippling Weather and Reactions

L5R CCG Rules board, 7 March 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Crippling weather bows any personalities that performed an action after the action ends. Does this bow personalities that used their Reactions, such as Yoritomo Joben or Yoritomo Eihiko?

If it in fact does, does it matter where the Personality is? I.E. If Yoritomo Eihiko is at home and reacts to an action being announed at the current battle where Crippling Weather has been played, does he bow?

Relevant Text:

Crippling Weather Battle: Destroy all terrains in play. Until this battle ends, no new terrains may be played. After each time this battle an action ends, bow any Personalities who performed it.

Yoritomo Joben Reaction: Even if Joben is bowed, after the resolution of an action he performed: Straighten him.

Yoritomo Eihiko Reaction: After you announce an action: Reduce the Gold Cost of a target card (in play) by 2 until the action ends.

Yes (http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Glossary_A#Action). Reactions are actions.

(D)oes it matter where the Personality is?

No. Rule of Location (http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Battles#Rule_of_Location) applies to cards in units. Crippling Weather is not in a unit.
