Flood the Earth + Ring requirements

L5R CCG Rules board, 31 January 2011

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Flood the earth states that you create a terrain, then play it if legal. Assuming it is, how does this count for meeting the requirements for putting the rings of water and void into play? I assume it's one action towards air, and presumably the terrain counts towards void since it doesn't care about titles, but I'm really not certain if the created card counts for water since it has no title by rule.

Flood the Earth: how does this count for meeting the requirements for putting the rings of water and void into play?

Ring of Water is looking for, "Battle action(s) from cards with different titles". The created terrain has no title, so is not different (extending from rules for keywords; http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Card_features#D ... e_keywords) and will not count for the Ring's tally.

Ring of the Void is looking for, "non-Kiho action(s) from Strategies". The created terrain is a Strategy (Flood the Earth card text), so counts for the Ring.
