Retribution & Celestial Disfavor

L5R CCG Rules board, 26 November 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Does a Retribution mean you declare an attack, thus triggering Celestial Disfavor?

Retribution: Reaction: After the end of an Attack Phase in which you were the Defender: Create an additional Attack Phase of your own in which you must choose the previous phase's Attacker as the Defender. Neither player may invite allies and you may only assign one unit. Give the Personality and each Follower in that unit +1F after it assigns.

Celestial Disfavor Until the game ends, after each time an attack is declared, each player in turn order from the Attacker chooses and bows one of his unbowed Personalities with his Clan alignment and a base Gold Cost of 6 or less.

Retribution says, "Create an additional Attack Phase". Attack phases always have a Declaration Segment (http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Sequence_of_pla ... ptional.29).

Yes.
