looking at this ruling.
vs the Comprehensive rules.
Family Honor is a numerical value that follows different rules than card stats.
The refrenced rule is for Card Stats on a page titled Card Features. The rules for Family Honor specifically say it follows different rules than card stats. So I am thinking this is an incorrect ruling, or the rules need to be clarified(probably the later). As far as I can tell there is no rule stating that setting a game state element (other than a card stat) to a value is considered an equivalent bonus or penalty/gain loss. Though there is a parenthetical comment on the referenced page, the page says this is for "Card Features".

Back in June, the decision was made to treat family honor the same way as card stats in regards to setting stats to a value.

The wiki specifically mentions this in the rules section on setting stats to a value (which was cited and linked to in the previous post).
This does not mean that family honor is treated like card stats in all ways. But in this way, it is.
