Does Faint Praise's action make the opponent lose honor if they bow for Last Step Castle's effect?
Faint Praise Political Open: Before the next time this turn a player gains Honor during his Dynasty Phase or from one of his own actions, he loses that amount of Honor instead of gaining it.
Last Step Castle Open: Even if this card is bowed, bow your target Personality: Give each of your provinces a strength bonus equal to his base Chi. If it is not your turn, before this turn ends, gain 2 Honor if none of your provinces were destroyed this turn.

Does Faint Praise's action make the opponent lose honor if they bow for Last Step Castle's effect?
Yes, assuming no player gained Honor during his Dynasty Phase or from one of his own actions (other than Last Step Castle) between when Faint Praise was played and the end of the turn, because this Stronghold's gain of 2 Honor comes from an action indeed (see Glossary, From).
