Essence of Evil says:
Battle/Open: Bow your target Shadowlands Shugenja at any location: Straighten one or two target Shadowlands Personalities
The performing Shadowlands shugenja is at home. The player plays Essence of Evil and straightens a Shadowlands Personality in the battle and then also straightens the performing shugenja. Is this legal and I get a link to the rule that alows it if it is?

No it is not legal. The phrase "at any location" only applies for the targeting in the constraints block ("your target Shadowlands Shugenja"). The targeting in the effects block obeys to the Rule of Location, as the ability is used as a Battle action, so the one or two targeted Shadowlands Personalities must be at the current battlefield (see below).
Rule of Location: "A card in a unit must be at the current battlefield to be targeted by, or explicitly perform, a Battle action."
If the player who takes this Battle action wants to straighten his performing Shugenja, the phrase "at any location" do not apply to that Shugenja for the second targeting, so the performing Shugenja must be at the current battlefield too.
