A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hello. I did some research, but couldn't find relevant rules (or precedence)... I hope that someone provides me with one
Poor Akodo Nagataka has a timebomb under his scalp, blowing him up just before battle resolution:
Akodo Nagataka : (trait) Before a battle's resolution, if Nagataka is at the current battlefield: Destroy him.
What if he is riding, er, using, Talisman of Toshigoku? Talisman is of course charged by peroforming some dectruction.
Talisman of Toshigoku : Reaction: After the resolution of a Battle action that this Personality performed and that destroyed an enemy card, bow this card: Negate the next destruction of this Personality this turn.
Battle resolution is looming, Nagataka feels sick, then Talisman saves him (fanfares), and... ? Another destruction or maybe he lives on ?
Bests!

Talisman of Toshigoku could negate the destruction from the trait.
