I didn't find anything by searching, so here it Ford.

Of I destroy a province with the guidance action, can I put the ring of earth in play? I think not, but I need official ruling.

If I destroy a province with the [Hida's] guidance action, can I put the ring of earth in play?

No. The Province was not destroyed by winning a battle (Ring of Earth card text).
