Setsuko + Will

L5R CCG Rules board, 16 June 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Daigotsu Setsuko (Experienced 1)

After Setsuko enters play: Lose 4 Honor and put a Dark Virtue from your discard pile into your hand.

Will

Battle: If you control an opposed unit at the current battlefield, target your dead Samurai Personality: Bring him into play there, paying 2 less Gold and ignoring Honor Requirements.

So when you take an action on a strategy card, the card exists in a temporary face-up area, and is then discarded into your fate discard pile after resolution of the action.

So if I use Will to bring Setsuko into play, is Will then discarded into the discard pile (has the action completely finished resolving) before or after Setsuko's trait kicks in? Is it actually possible to get back the Will you just played to Will her into play?

Hey, I know this one because I got it wrong a while back. Which means it's in the forum and could be found be a search.

Typing in "Setsuko" into the forum search led me here:

viewtopic.php?f=59&t=83963

And the mod moral of the story is:

Search the forum before posting. Thanks!
