Card Memory and Ongoing effects

L5R CCG Rules board, 13 June 2010

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. So I have a question about card memory and force bonuses. If a card enters a discard pile after using its printed effects even if you bring it back into play memory states that you can not use its abilities again but does it still have any force bonuses that it did before?

Example: You have 2 personalities at a battle field (Ronin A and Ronin B) Ronin A has Untrained scouts (have a force of 0) Ronin B has no followers. You play Height of courage (Battle: Give your target Personality and each of his Followers +1F.). You enemy plays rout (Battle: Move a target unit home. Destroy one of its attachments (if any).) You then use Obfuscation on Ronin B bringing the Untrained scouts back into play (Battle: Attach a target attachment from your hand or discard pile to your target Personality. You may take an additional action to use one of the attachment's base Battle abilities.) and then pass on the additional battle action.

Do the scouts still have 1 force?

Yes. It retains memory of ongoing effects upon it as well.
