I've re-read the definition of "Unit" in Glossary as well as "Attachments" in Comp Rules, yet I am still a bit confused about these two:
Hiruma Shigeo Open: Bow a target attachment.
Monkey Magistrates This Personality has +1 PH. Reaction: After another player's action targets this Personality, bow this card: This Personality gains +2C. If he is no longer a legal target for the action, its effects do not happen.
Shigeo targets Monkey Magistrates (who are in a unit) and tries to bow it. Having in mind that "Targeting a unit is the same as targeting its Personality" as well as Monkey Magistrates Reaction trigger, can I bow them (to pay the Reaction's cost) before Shigeo action's effect bows them, and give my Personality +2C?
P.S. If yes, would this be possible also in the case when Shigeo's targeted attachment is an item instead of Monkey Magistrates? (but they are of course attached as well to trigger the Reaction)

Targeting an attachment and targeting a unit are NOT equivalent.
Targeting a personality and targeting a unit are equivalent.
Targeting the Monkey Magistrates with Hiruma Shigeo's ability will not trigger the Reaction on Monkey Magistrates.
