Hi, This question came up in a situational discussion.
I send out a guy with 3F to attack with a prayer for guidance action on him. He is defended against, defender passes/sneak attack, Ranged 3 w/ no outer walls against it. No additional actions are taken from either side. Would I still gain the 3 honor from Prayer as I am "bowing". (ex. you can straighten a straightened personality.)
Like I said, this is purely situational.
Thanks

Would I still gain the 3 honor from Prayer as I am "bowing"?
No.
If the Samurai who performed Prayer for Guidance is bowed by his own controller's action during battle, this player will not gain 3 Honor from this Bushido Virtue card during battle resolution because the performing Samurai is not bowed by battle resolution. Per the glossary, to bow means to change a card from the unbowed to bowed state. If the Samurai is already bowed, there is no change from the unbowed to bowed state, so there is no Honor gain.
you can straighten a straightened personality
No you can't. Such an effect would fail, such a cost would not be paid. This does not mean that you are forbidden to try to straighten an unbowed card as an effect, it just means that the effect does not successfully straighten it. See also Failure and Choices.
