Hidden Route and Encircled Terrain

L5R CCG Rules board, 12 October 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hidden Route Recon Limited: Target your unbowed Scout: Target a province. You may negate the first effect that moves home one or more of your Personalities from an action during a battle at that province's battlefield. Before this turn ends, you may put this card in your hand from the discard pile if you did not destroy the targeted province.

Encircled Terrain Terrain Battle: Before this battle’s resolution, the Attacker and Defender, in the order of your choice, each choose one of their units at the current battlefield. Move all other units there home.

Question: Does Hidden Route, if its action has not yet negated a movement during a battle where Encircled Terrain is out, negate the moving home of both your own units, and the opponents, if any?

Does Hidden Route, if its action has not yet negated a movement during a battle where Encircled Terrain is out, negate the moving home of both your own units, and the opponents, if any?

In such a situation, Hidden Route negates the moving home from Encircled Terrain of all units controlled by the player who took this Recon action. The movement of other players' units is not negated.
