A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I use Doji Tsubota in my turn on a straight Personality of my opponent. He goes through his straighten phase and bows his personality in his turn (lobby or something) and he now wants to straighten him (tower of the nyngio,RoA..) ... does his personality straighten ? It was straight during straighten phase so im not sure how this works with tsubotas action.
Doji Tsubota Political Open: Discard the Imperial Favor: Until your next turn ends, negate a target Personality's next straightening.

I must tell you up front that I am not an official rules person. With that said...
EDIT: In regards to your second post, here is what the quick-start rules say:
1. Straighten phase As the player whose turn it is, you straighten all your bowed cards, including your Stronghold. (italics for emphasis)

sry, but that wasnt the problem.
i want to know if in the straighten phase a already straight personality will go through "straightening" or if the straighten phase just checks: "oh, he is already straight ... so i do not touch him"

If a Personality is unbowed, an effect that attempts to straighten him fails: Example 2: Effects fail if they try to put a card in a state it is in already (i.e. an effect that bows a card will fail if the card is already bowed; an effect that dishonors a Personality will fail if the card is already dishonorable). Failure for this reason takes precedence over negation effects.
Emphasis mine.
