Can a player react with the Reaction on Chagatai's Armor as Mountains of the Phoenix is played, to prevent the death before the battle's resolution?
Chagatai's Armor Reaction: Before the resolution of another player's action: Negate either the bowing, destruction, or movement of this Personality from the action's effects. Battle: Bow this card: Straighten this unit or move it to the current battlefield.
Mountains of the Phoenix Battle: Before this battle’s resolution, the Attacker and the Defender each choose a unit in their own army; the active player decides who chooses first. Then, destroy the chosen units.

Can a player react with the Reaction on Chagatai's Armor as Mountains of the Phoenix is played, to prevent the death before the battle's resolution?
Yes but he must take this Reaction at the right time (immediately after Mountains of the Phoenix enters play) and it will negate the destruction of the Personality only, its attachments - including Chagatai's Armor - will be destroyed because Mountains of the Phoenix destroys the whole chosen units.
