Asako Misako + Enough Talk

L5R CCG Rules board, 9 September 2009 to 10 September 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Asako Misako Phoenix Clan • Courtier Political Battle: If Misako is in your home, target your Shugenja: Move a target enemy Personality home. Gain 1 Honor.

Enough Talk Reaction: Before the resolution of a Political action performed by a Personality, target your unbowed Samurai: He challenges the other Personality. Destroy the duel's loser. If your Samurai wins the duel, the Political action's effects do not happen.

Now I target my shugenja in the current battlefield, and my opponent plays Enough Talk. Who can he target? My shugenja? My Courtier? or he chooses one of them?

Either one, but just one.

If a player had two Enough Talk!, could he play one on each target, or would the first remove the trigger for the second?

Assuming the player with the two Enough Talk! wins the first duel, the former.

The action is still about to resolve, even though all its effects are nullified. (Fixed incorrect answer.)

Regarding these two separate rulings: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=78825 viewtopic.php?f=59&t=79016

It seems that in order for one to be correct, the other must not be correct. Can someone please explain the difference to me? Thanks

The difference is that in one, the Rules Team member answering it made an error.

The one making the mistake? That'd be me. Hi.

Correction will be made by time you read this.
