Can a Personality Target a Follower or a Personality without Followers with with a normal Ranged Attack even if the Force of the target is higher than the Ranged Attack? For Example:
Isawa Akihiro Battle: Even if Akihiro is bowed: Ranged 3 Attack. Straighten Akihiro.
Targets:
Daku no Oni 7F
The Ranged Attack fails to destroy Daku but Akihiro still Straightens. Is this legal?

Yes. The Ranged attack effect fails, and straightening occurs, because all effects are independent.
