A non duelist with 4 Chi challenges Hida Hachimoto to a duel using Master the Body. What happens?
In a similar vein, what if said 4 Chi monk/shugenja also had Duelist?
Thanks in advance.
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Master the Body compares the Personalties' Chi specifically. Comparing the performer's 4 Chi to Hachimoto's 3 Chi will not give the performer the first opportunity to focus.
Keep in mind, the above is a separate effect from any other aspect to the duel, so it doesn't undermine Hachimoto's trait at all; he'd still have a 6 duel stat for it. Poor 4 Chi performer! Hida smash!

Now, the "Duelist" keyword DOES compare the actual "duel stat" (rather than "Chi", like Master the Body); see here.
So, Hachimoto's 6 duel stat (due to his trait) versus the hypothetical performer's 4 Chi WOULD allow the Monk/Shugenja Duelist to focus first via having "Duelist".
