Bowed items and total force

L5R CCG Rules board, 6 September 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Do Bowed items continue to add their bonus to their Personality (if the personality is not bowed)? If yes, why does it matter, then, that some actions require or force bowing items?

Thanks

Yes, they do.

Well, it matters in certainly matters in some scenarios. Consider:

What if you have two Yarijutsu in your hand and only one Weapon in play? You bow the Weapon for the first Yarijutsu, and even though it is still contributing Force to its Personality, you are now unable to play the other Yarijutsu.
