I Am Ready + Doomed Intentions

L5R CCG Rules board, 23 March 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Can you use Doomed Intentions as a defender to move a personality with an attachment into the current battlefield, and then use I Am Ready as your additional action? Is I Am Ready considered printed on a card in the unit?

I Am Ready Until the end of the game, you have the ability, "Battle: Once per battle, target one of your Personalities with an attachment: Bow a target Personality opposing him without attachments."

Doomed Intentions Battle: If there are enemy units at the current battlefield: Move one of your target units there. If it moved, straighten it. If you are the Defender, take an additional Battle action printed on a card in the unit.

Is I Am Ready considered printed on a card in the unit?

No. "Printed" (http://rules.l5r.com/Glossary_P-Q#Printed) is the same as "base" http://rules.l5r.com/Glossary_B#Base), which means Doomed Intentions is out.
