Doji Kohaku + District Governor

L5R CCG Rules board, 17 February 2009

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 17 February 2009

Political Reaction: After you gain Honor from an action, bow Kohaku: Target another player. The player chooses whether you gain 1 Honor or he loses 1 Honor.

Limited: Bow one of your target Courtier or Magistrate Personalities: Target a Personality. The target's controller may dishonor the Personality. If he chooses not to, he loses 1 Honor, you gain 1 Honor and your Personality straightens.

Kohaku bows to pay the cost of District Governor. Player chooses not to dishonor his personality. Kohaku straightens off the effect of District Governor.

Can Kohaku now bow to use his reaction?

I'm guessing the trigger is all the same since it is all in the same sentence?

Doji Kohaku bows to pay the cost of District Governor. Player chooses not to dishonor his personality. Kohaku straightens off the effect of District Governor. Can Kohaku now bow to use his reaction?

No. Effects occur in the order written (http://rules.l5r.com/Effects#Order_of_effects), so the window for reacting to honor gains is past before straightening occurs.
