Daidoji Nagiko + Movement Negation

L5R CCG Rules board, 10 November 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Daidoji Nagiko- Battle: Target an enemy unit. Move Nagiko to the current battlefield. Ranged 3 Attack that must target a (legal) card in the target unit.

My question is this: If the movement is negated, does the ranged attack still go off? The confusion comes from the fact that the movement is neither a cost nor is it inclusive in the same sentence of the Ranged Attack.

Thank you

In general, the question is, "If one effect is negated, will the others still happen?"

That one is frequently asked, and so can be found at: http://rules.l5r.com/FAQ#If_one_effect_ ... _happen.3F
