A Noble End and Glory in Death

L5R CCG Rules board, 11 September 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I have three Lion Clan Personalities with zero Force. My opponent plays A Noble End performed by a Personality with three Personal Honour, targeting all three of my personalities. In response to the destruction of the first personality, I play Glory in Death. Does this prevent the destruction of my other two personalities?

Card text:

A Noble End - Battle: Target one of your unbowed Personalities: Target a number of Personalities or Followers opposing him up to his Personal Honor. Destroy each opposing target with 0 Force. Gain 2 Honor for each card destroyed. Give each opposing target still in play -2F.

Glory In Death - Reaction: After one of your Personalities is destroyed during battle: Give all Personalities in your army +1F, or +2F if you are a Lion Clan player.

Thanks, Mark

No because A Noble End destroys all opposing targets with 0 Force simultaneously; your three Personalities are all already dead when you play Glory in Death.
